Villages Connected
Join Villages Connected media makers as we discover a world of ideas and initiatives focused on Africa. As a member of this community you will get to see media that represents a whole mosaic of Canadians who care about Africa, from choir members, to economists, to aid workers, to African emigrants and people living and working in Africa today.
Villages Connected is a micro-caster. We use the internet to publish information and distribute videos to a small (by "broadcaster" standards) group of people who have declared a specific interest in Africa.

Villages Connected
As we research, we reach out and share what we learn. Our focus isn't just on film making. Call us idealists, but we aim to build positive relationships, understanding & opportunities for people here in Canada and in the developing world. As people share their stories and ideas with us, we're going to share those ideas with you in our videos, blog, newsletters, community listings and live events.
Eventually we'll make some films too, but in and around that, we'd like to help some people make a difference.

You don't have to be an expert or an activist to participate in this community. If you care about what's happening in Africa - you're in!
At an event called Joining Hands with Africa, Stephen Lewis said, "It is of critical importance that people are engaged at the grassroots level in finding solutions." We heard the message and Villages Connected is responding to the need.
As we travel across Canada and Africa making media, we are connecting with communities, building bridges and reaching out to people who don't affiliate with any specific group but want to know more about Africa.
Our aim is to be an unbiased vessel for information and ideas. Hey, we're not experts, we're media makers. We're meeting experts, and we're also meeting with regular folks and we're helping them get connected.
Oh and WE'RE GOING TO HAVE FUN! Change doesn't just come from earnest endeavours - were tapping into the power of music, dance, storytelling, humour and some earnest endeavours! There's a little something for everyone so....
